Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Dinner ... Food quality got much better after a few years. Portion sizes are decent. Prices are reasonable. Friendly and efficient staff. Fairly clean restaurant."
"Didn’t know what to eat, then spotted this new stall. The pictures looked tempting, so I thought, why not give it a try? Went in with zero expectations… And wow — pleasantly surprised! The flavors were simple yet comforting, the kind that keep you eating spoonful after spoonful. The mee hoon portion was generous, though the soup and fish slices felt a bit too precious — definitely could’ve used more. The sambal, though, hit the spot. Overall? It lived up to expectations — nothing fancy, just honest, satisfying comfort food. Definitely come back !"
"If you happen to be at Tiger Hill (Bukit Rimau), and you are looking for some Yummylicious shockalingam slurpylicious food court choices, one place to go to is Restoran Kian Kiat. This place has various stalls to choose from, and one would want to come again to try different choices at other stalls."
"This place deserves a much better rating. Undisputedly the best nasi lemak in KK and the mee rojak is a surprising gem too. Has nice kuah reminiscent of Melaka’s infamously satay celup. All in all, our go-to kopitiam in KK. Highly recommended"
"Talk about business transformation. This kopi tiam used to be relatively quiet in the past. However, these days, it is a hive of activities especially with the morning and lunch time crowd. Most likely because of the change in better quality food stalls with more varieties and drawing in the crowds. The nasi lemak is a definite must try. The fragrant rice blends well with the spicy and sweet sambal balanced with the fried anchovies (ikan bilis). Another popular dish is the claypot yee mee. This one comes complete with a sprinkle of sliced fish cake, vegetables and dried bean curd (foo chok). A good offering to warm up the stomach in the morning! If you are undecided on what to eat for your morning fare, this kopi tiam, with its many variety of food, snacks and what have you might just be the right place to step into."
"Generally drinks here are selling more expensive in comparison to other nearby kopitiam. Tried this China style pig stomach with handmade noodles and their own recipe of chilies as condiments. The soup is not spicy, as it is not exactly white pepper pig stomach soup, and the noodles coupled with their chilies is quite flavorful and with some crunchy texture from the peanuts."
"Very good Ipoh kai si hor fan. Broth is tasty with good serve of kai si and 3 prawns. Ask for an additional dash of prawn oil if you like at no extra charge. The hor fan is smooth. You can also opt for the chicken thigh."
"First time patronizing this place. Recommended by a Fren for the PorkNoodle. Nice. First time having PorkNoodelSoup with a sprite of Chinese Wine. Famous for it's explosive fried PorkFatt. NICE. Worth the trip there. Will return to try out the SamKanChong."
